Standard ESL Program

This program has been designed to provide students with an opportunity to acquire language skills methodically using an integrated skills approach. Students improve language skills through qualified instruction in a small group setting. The standardized, intensive skills-based curriculum assures a system approach to language acquisition.

Semi Intensive ESL

Our Semi Intensive ESL program is designed for students who want a more immersive curriculum with extended study periods. Hollywood College’s Semi-Intensive English classes combine formal instruction with fun, engaging activities that promote a deeper understanding of the English language.

Intensive ESL

Our Intensive ESL program is the most comprehensive program at Hollywood College and is designed for students who want to improve their English language skills at a rapid pace. This program is designed to include both formal instruction and fun, engaging activities to assist students in developing their language skills for both academic purposes and day-to-day English interactions.



Grammar and Writing

Our Grammar and Writing Class helps students to better understand and use grammatical structures in English. The Class also focuses on the written usage of English grammar.

Reading and Vocabulary

Our Reading and Vocabulary Class emphasizes building English vocabulary. The class also helps students to develop reading skills in English for academic and general usages.

Listening and Speaking

Our Listening / Speaking class helps students to develop the listening and speaking skills they will need both for academic purposes and for day-to-day conversation. It also emphasizes accent reduction.


In this course, students will learn about many different forms of writing and apply that knowledge when producing weekly writing assignments. Common English writing skills will be taught and put into practice, and English grammar as it applies to writing will be reviewed.

American Literature

This course will focus on reading and analyzing significant works of American literature.

Public Speaking

This course is an introduction to speech communication which emphasizes the practical skill of public speaking, including techniques to lessen speaker anxiety, and the use of visual aids to enhance speaker presentations.

Media English

The Media English course will allow students to watch and analyze a variety of TV episodes and short films.

All about USA

The All About USA course will utilize and a combination of oral, written, visual, and audial presentations to help students develop a greater understanding of what may or may not be considered components of the broad-spectrum of the United States of America.

Current Events

The Current Events course will provide students with the opportunity to learn about and discuss recent news, both on a local and international scale.

English in Action

The English in Action course allow students to use English to express themselves in a variety of creative ways. Students will partake in various activities : role-playing, improvisational games, brainstorming marketing ideas, and practicing useful real-world skills
